Oscar nominations 2017: ‘La La Land’ scoops up 14 Academy Awards Nominations

La La Land equals Titanic’s record-tying 14 Oscar nominations while Emma Stone competes against Natalie Portman for Best Actress

The musical movie La La Land received 14 Academy Award nominations, including best picture, director, actor and actress. With its 14 nominations, La La Land ties the record set by Titanic and All About Eve.

Arrival and Moonlight each got eight nominations. Moonlight, Fences, and Manchester by the Sea earned several nods. Deadpool, sadly, did not take home any nominations.

Amazon Studios, the film and TV production arm of Jeff Bezos ’ e-commerce giant, made history Tuesday by becoming the first video streaming company to score a best picture nomination.

“Manchester By the Sea,” the acclaimed Casey Affleck drama backed by Amazon and distributed theatrically by Roadside Attractions, scored six nods from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which holds its awards ceremony Feb. 26.

The 89th Academy Awards will take place on Feb. 26 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and will air live at 5:30 p.m. PT.
