IGNORANCE AND MISSED OPPORTUNITIES ARE DILEMMA FOR PAKISTAN SPORTS PLAYER

There was a time when Pakistan used be among the top countries in Squash, Hockey, Traditional Wrestling (Kushi), and Cricket. Like other institutes and organisations in Pakistan are failing down sports and games in Pakistan also being ruined by favouritism, nepotism and discrimination.

Spoiling talented individual youth in sports find no future for them similar to the professional, hence these young talented individuals find no option to leave the country. In Australia, many talented individuals who proved to be the future champion through their remarkable record in Pakistan left Pakistan and now see working ordinary job. They are trying hard to get permanent residency by impress with their talent to the local clubs so that they can continue demonstrate their talent in sport.

One of the names of these sporting talent is Muhammad Sheraz Malik who was born in Karachi. Sheraz Malik has been an outstanding hockey player who has received many awards in Pakistan by participating and delivering remarkable performance from early school level to professional club level.

Habib Public School in Karachi has produced many outstanding players especially in Hocky like hockey Olympians Sohail Abbas, Qamar Ibrahim, Kamran Ashraf. Inspiring with these players Sheraz Malik work hard in recognising his natural skills in field hockey. He began his hockey journey when he selected in house team and then lead the team as a Captain. Sheraz Malik demonstrated his leadership skills in his team and led to the team in the runner up position and himself as a best player of the tournament when he was only in Grad 5 in Habib Public School. He remained represent his school team, used to play inter school tournament.

In 2016, Sheraz Malik represented Pakistan hocky and played Malaysia Azlan Shah international competition in Malaysia. He played All Pakistan Interdivision hockey tournament represented

He represented Habib Public School Sports Captain for the Year 2018-2019 and Alpha College Captain Participated in Inter College. Played All Pakistan Inter university Hockey Championship as a Vice Captain Represented Institute Of business management. He played interdivision, Interclub and National Senior and Junior championship.

I Muhammad Sheraz Malik born in Karachi Pakistan started playing Hockey in Habib Public School.  Habib Public School has a rich history in sports especially hockey. Habib has produced big names such as Olympian Sohail Abbas, Olympian Abbas Haider, Olympian Qamar Ibrahim, Olympian Kamran Ashraf and many more. Since school these big names were my inspiration from where I begin my hockey journey got selected in house Team and after a year got chance to lead the team as captain and got Runner Up position and Best player of the tournament when I was in grade 5. Sir Shakir has an immense importance in my hockey career as he was my first coach who teach me how to hold the stick. He was also coach of Legend Olympian Sohail Abbas. Then my performance made my name to the school team and I participated every year from grade six to 11 in inter school tournaments. In 2016 went to Play international tournament in Malaysia Azlan shah Ipoh. And again in 2018 Played International hockey carnival in international hockey stadium Kandy.

Sheraz Malik played for National Hockey Club, Karachi hockey league January 2023, Australia 2023 Sydney Hockey League Sydney Lions Hockey Club. He received the best emerging Player of the Season. He played in international Melbourne Hockey Cup 2023, New Zealand Sikh Games 2023 Gold. Recently, he played in the Annual Kings Birthday NZIHC (New Zealand Indians Hockey Championship) tournament for the New Zealand Bay of Plenty Sports club and Played Sydney Premier Hockey League 2024 UTS hockey Club.

Sheraz Malik is now desperately looking to settled down in Australia permanently and further demonstrated his field hockey experience and skills for any known Australia hockey club.
